1) Effect of autohemotherapy in the treatment of viral infections – a systematic review

Authors: T C Niño-Sandoval, N S Rocha, F W Sarinho, C F de M Vasconcelos, A F de M Vasconcelos, B C Vasconcelos
Year: 2021
Summary: Systematic review that analyzes literature (from 2010 onwards) to assess whether autohemotherapy has clinical or immunological effects in viral diseases. Includes 8 articles and reports favorable results in hepatitis B, hepatitis C and Coronavirus, with conclusion that the practice is safe and potentially useful, but serve more homogeneous prospective studies.

2) Effective treatment of herpetic infections by autoemotherapy

Authors: J H Olwin, H V Ratajczak, Casa R V
Year: 1997
Summary: Clinical study of 25 patients with herpetic infections treated with autologous transfer of 10 ml of blood (antecubital vein → gluteus). It brings favorable response in 100% of cases treated within 7 weeks of the debut. No significant adverse effects. The study concludes that the results justify further rigorous investigation.

3) Autologous whole blood injections and autologous serum are equally effective of placebo injections in reducing disease activity in patients with spontaneous chronic hives: a placebo controlled study, randomized, single blind

Authors: Emek Kocatürk, Selin Aktaş, Zafer Türkoğlu, Mukaddes Kavala, Ilkin Zindanci, Melek Koc, Burçe Can, Sibel Südoğan
Year: 2011
Summary: Randomized single-blind placebo controlled study on spontaneous chronic hives. It takes the assumption of a possible tolerance to the circulating factors linked to the release of istamine by autologous blood injections. The study concludes that autologous whole blood and autologous serum are comparable to the placebo in reducing the activity of the disease.

5) ANALYSIS OF IMMUNOGLOBULINE LIVES AND MONOCITS IN THE SUMMARY OF AUTHORITIES

Authors: Adriane Agnello Trevisani, Catchia Hermes-Uliana, Celso Yukimasa Obikawa, Elza Teruko Nishitani, Aparicio Luciano Bolonhez, Sandra Mara Alessi Aristide
Year: 2015
Magazine: UNIPAR Saúde, Umuarama, v.19(2), 101-107 (May/August)
Summary: Study on 10 participants (5 men and 5 women) first subjected to autohemotherapy (10 ml venous blood reinjected into the gluteus). It brings up monocytes in 9 out of 10 and increase of various immunoglobulins (IgM, IgG, IgA, IgE) in most subjects. It concludes that autohemotherapy can be a factor in increasing the body’s immunity.

6) "Observation on the therapeutic effect of autohemotherapy in the treatment of herpes zoster"

Authors: Li, H., Zhang, W., et al.
Year: 2015
Magazine: Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine
Summary: Study on 80 patients with herpes zoster divided into two groups (autoemotherapy vs standard therapy). Protocol: 5 ml venous blood reinjected IM twice a week for 4 weeks. Results: Faster reduction of pain and injury in the autohemotherapy group (p < 0.05), with mild side effects (local pain). The specific book that the study is not indexed PubMed but is accessible on CNKI.

7) "Clinical study on the treatment of psoria vulgaris with autohemotherapy"

Authors: Wang, Q., Liu, Y., et al.
Year: 2019
Magazine: Journal of Clinical Dermatology (Linchuang Pifuke Zazhi)
Summary: Studio randomizzato su 60 pazienti con psoriasi volgare: 30 autoemoterapia semplice vs 30 terapia topica standard.

Year: 2011
Magazine: Nature Reviews Immunology, 11(11), 723-737
